Why have a blog if you never update it! Every time I go in here I forget how how to post on WordPress. Sorry about that! But these kids photos are super cute.

Every Christmas Season Hope Animal Clinic does a photography benefit shoot for Hill Country Cats and the SPCA – and this year I had the pleasure of helping them with the photography. So much fun!

Springtime may have the wildflowers, but there is something about winter – the light, the dried grasses, and the sky – that always makes for beautiful photography. That and having the most adorable couple to work with!

Fun shoot today, couldn’t resist posting this one. I’ve been TERRIBLE at uploading images lately, but this made me smile. Great day with a beautiful family – will add more later.

Usually just before back-to-school, we pick a weekend, stock up on some fun hats, and bring in a dozen or so children for 3o minute “hat day” sessions.
Always fun, and always unpredictable, here are some images fresh out of the camera!

Time for his 6-month old portrait – here’s Ry! Normally I use a neutral color background, but this little guy is all boy so we went with the blue. Just love his spikey hair!

I’ve been anxious to try a low key session in the studio – mostly I shoot families and children and sometimes the moody light of low key just doesn’t work. But my niece was looking for some maternity photos, she is absolutely beautiful, and pregnant with twins, and she and her husband were game for whatever. So we spent an hour in the studio and came up with some great images ….
Then we combined black on black and white on black images….
And because she is pregnant with a twin girl and twin boy, we decided to turn up all the lights, switch out the background and lighting to high key, and have a little fun!

When I told my husband (and best photo assistant in the world) that I was buying a vintage chair and sofa to do outdoor portraits I know he thought I was crazy. But sometimes a plan comes together just right. Even the rain held off long enough for us to catch the beautiful morning light down near Lake Travis.
The sun decided to come out right around the time we piled the entire family onto the matching sofa (how fun is that couch!) and drenched everything and everyone in a bath of light.
Then it was time for the girls to get into their comfy clothes and take a walk along the lake. They were fabulous models, and such beautiful young ladies.
